The direct care staff employee is responsible for general child supervision, crisis management, and daily living support.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cleaning- teach the children to clean
Preparing daily meals as well as helping children learn to cook
Taking residents to their medical appointments
School functions games, Parent Teacher conferences, reading time etc..
Keep calm when issues arise and keep the children safe
Daily notes and logs along with Incident reports if needed
Every child is different any needs that may arise
Performs other duties as assigned to maintain and enhance the operation of the program.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and WRFCHC employees.
Ability to interpret departmental rules, regulations, laws and WRFCHC policies.
Ability to be a self-starter, complete tasks in a timely manner, and work independently with little or no supervision.
Ability to use professional phone etiquette, attitude and appearance.
Ability to apply efficient application of computer technology, software and office equipment.
Ability to understand and execute complex written and oral instructions.
Ability to continue learning and growing through continuing education and training.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
High school diploma or equivalency, along with any supporting certifications such as BLS and other necessary competencies (e.g., ACLS, TNCC, PALS, etc.).
Some weekends, evening, and overnight shifts required.
The work environment involves risks and discomforts of a patient care setting including exposure to communicable diseases, working with office machines, and computers. The demand of computer terminals and keyboards for long periods of time that may cause eye, shoulder, and wrist strain. Work is performed in a smoke-free office setting. There is adequate light, heat, and ventilation in the work area.
Must maintain strict confidentiality of all information processed through the department including records, reports, documents, conversations, etc. A breach of confidentiality will be subject to appropriate disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal from employment.
Pre-employment applicants being considered for employment must submit to an alcohol and drug screening prior to being hired. Refusal to take the test will render the applicant ineligible for employment with Wind River Family & Community Health Care. Applicants who test positive for alcohol or banned drugs will not be hired and will be ineligible for any type of employment for 60 days.
