Hours: Generally Monday-Friday, 40 Hour Work Week


The Substance Abuse Technician is responsible for the supervision of the residents in the Transitional Home. Substance Abuse Technicians will provide a safe, trauma informed, supportive environment for all residents.


Major Duties:

Works daily with residents to provide support, encouragement, and guidance.
Accurately report incidents or any behavior that includes significance on provided forms.
Acts as a back-up facilitator for groups as needed, if Certified
Assist and supervise clients with preparation of meals
Assist clients with scheduling appointments, chores, community service and other activities.
Assist in the transportation of clients, adhering to all traffic and safety laws
Communicate difficulties and or concerns regarding clients behaviors to supervisor as appropriate
Ensure Shift chores are completed, especially the deep cleaning of the facility
Conduct alcohol and drug screening in conjunction with visits and employment
Conduct compliance room checks and inspect all incoming residents property
Ensuring Compliance with relevant regulations including certifying agency standards
Strive to maintain client centered practices by integrating family and positive support systems.
Reinforcing programming and staff adherence to ethical practices.
Maintaining and modeling a close collaborative working relationships with community resources to ensure quality care is being provided.
Model and support health and wellness activities and healthy coping skills for clients
Work to resolve conflicts at the team level and effectively use supervision and management for further conflict resolution.
Must have two (2) years of continuous recovery of being clean and sober.
Performs other duties as assigned to maintain and enhance the operation of the program.


Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent, along with any supporting certifications such as BLS and other necessary competencies (e.g., ACLS, TNCC, PALS, etc.).
