The Right-of-Way Coordinator performs all tasks related to tribal trust and fee right-of-way activities for the Northern Arapaho Tribe. The job responsibilities include performing all duties relating to trust and fee right-of-way activities, which includes subjects of deeds, leases, acquisitions, easements, mapping, surveying, legal descriptions, data management, document recording, planning, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), land use, zoning, and project management.


Work closely with Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) Realty Department on ROW process.
Work closely with all tribal departments that are in need of ROW transactions needed for current and future projects.
Act in leadership role for the Right-of-Way Department as needed.
Conduct property searches, title searches, appraisal reviews and recordation of land rights.
Read, review, and interpret complex legal descriptions, civil plans, and right-of-way maps.
Plan, manage and perform administrative duties consisting of, but not limited to, accurate data entry, preparing professional letters and email communications, with proper grammar, punctuation, spelling, and format.
Assist with preparation of annual operating budgets.
Correspond verbally and in writing with the public and internal/external customers on right-of-way related needs and attend meetings as needed.,
Perform any related right-of-way work and support as needed.
Learn the Geographic Information System (GIS) computer system.
Other duties as assigned to maintain and enhance the operation of the department.


High school diploma required.
Associates Degree with 2 years of experience with real estate and GIS required.
Knowledge and ability to interpret legal descriptions, survey plats, tract maps, and legal records required.
Knowledge of computers and relevant software applications such as Word and Excel.
Must possess a valid driver license and be eligible for coverage under WRFCHC’s auto insurance policy.
Must be eligible to legally be employed in the US.
Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) drug screen and motor vehicles record check.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check under the Indian Child Protection Act and Family Act (P.L.101-630).


Tasks require the ability to exert very moderate physical effort in light work.
Tasks require some walking, standing, bending, stooping, climbing, pushing, and pulling.
Tasks require some lifting, carrying, or pushing objects and materials of moderate weight (10-20 pounds)
